White water rafting is a fun and adventurous water sport that’s sure to test your physical and mental endurance. White water rafting is done in the upper course of the river where it tumbles down the mountain in a series of rapids. The challenge in river rafting is to cruise down the rapids in an inflatable raft. The rapids are classified into different classes based on the difficulty level. Class I is the easiest and Class IV is the most challenging. The River Kali in Dandeli has Class II and Class III rapids, which makes it a great choice for both amateurs and experienced rafters.
It is not necessary for you to know swimming if you want to go white water rafting. However, make sure you wear the safety jacket that the instructor provides when you go for the rafting trip. Wear casual and comfortable clothes when you go on the rafting trip. You can wear tee shirts and shorts or tights, or a swimsuit, if you feel comfortable. Also, avoid wearing sarees or salwar kurtis when you go on a rafting trip. Preferably, reduce accessories like scarf, dupatta, and other items that can disturb you when you are paddling the raft. When it comes to footwear, wear sandals that will not slip and fall off when you are in the water. Also, avoid wearing jewelry, watch, or other valuables as they will not only disturb you, but also could get lost when you are in water. Always carry a towel and a change of clothes when you go on a white water rafting trip. Even if you wear a slicker or a waterproof jacket, you will surely get wet as your course down the rapids of the river.
